ANIMATION/ VFX

This video is part of the animated feature I started producing in 2024, Twelve Nights with Viola & Olivia, using Unreal Engine 5 and AI-powered facial motion capture. The segment where Adriano speaks (me) was filmed in my bedroom with a DSLR, Sennheiser wireless microphone and Tascam DR-60 Mk II digital field recorder.

I think 3D animation using Unreal Engine 5 will make literal no-budget filmmaking more practical, both to create narrative films and help replace pitch-decks in film and television production.

Here, my friend Rox Jiminez-Hernandez is performing in front of a camera set up in the MiraCosta College library in 2024. This is a fantastic new filmmaking method!

This is an experiment with the auto-rotoscoping feature of After Effects. It began as a scene shot against a blank white wall at the Peter Valentino acting school. Jovanka Azyadet plays Ava and Alex Rubit plays Caleb.

This video was made for an assignment in Media Arts and Technologies 200, Video Production 2: Post-Production and Special Effects as an experiment in augmented reality.

Text and video content are tracked in this After Effects using camera tracking. Thanks to the makers of the video clips that were used strictly for academic purposes.
